"Melissa groaned as she regained consciousness. Her vision was blurry as her eyes adjusted to the new surroundings. Still in a haze, she tried to remember what had happened before she blacked out. She'd driven to the airport, ready to fly out of the state, to get away from the criminals she was deep in debt to. Her last clear memories were from a bathroom. She was washing her hands when another woman approached her. The stranger told Melissa that trying to run had just made things worse. She'd be paying off her debt in a different way now. Then there was a sharp pain in her neck, and everything went black.

Finally everything came into focus. She was in a small, seemingly empty room. The only thing present was most likely a bed, as she felt a pillow beneath her rear. "Wha... wha happad? Weh am I," she muttered, still woozy. Why did her voice sound so odd? Was the drug she'd been injected with affecting her pronunciation? Her mouth did feel a bit sore. Melissa ran her tongue along the edges of her mouth, panic setting in as she felt nothing but smooth gums. All of her teeth had been removed. "Oh gahw, no!" She tried to get up, but there was no sensation in her legs. Melissa looked down, and screamed in utter horror.

Gazing at her nude body, Melissa saw nothing below her hips. Just a stump resting on a pillow. Tears filling her eyes, she glanced to the side and found that her arms were amputated as well. These weren't the only alterations. Though there was no mirror in the room, she could tell that she now had a permanently bald scalp with a barcode emblazoned across her forehead. She'd heard the stories; women being surgically altered to become living sex toys. She never thought such a fate would befall her."

As Melissa bawled, she heard some low voices from the other side of the wall. Listening closely, she was able to make out a few of the words. What she heard caused her to pass out again. Two men were talking about the upcoming "auction". They expected to make a substantial profit selling their women to eager buyers. Melissa's life was over.
